Located in beautiful Northern California just two hours by car from the San Francisco Bay Area, the Sacramento Valley, or the Pacific Coast, Lake County is the perfect destination for a fun family vacation or a romantic weekend getaway. Dotted with vineyards and wineries, orchards and farm stands, and charming small towns, Lake County is home to Clear Lake, California's largest natural freshwater lake, known as "The Bass Capital of the West," and Mt. Konocti, which towers over Clear Lake. Stay at a boutique inn, quaint motel, lakeside campground, or full-service resort in one of Lake County's charming communities.
Nature's wonders abound in Lake County. Clear Lake is the largest natural lake in the state of California. The Geysers is the largest geothermal field complex in the world. "Lake County diamonds" are there for the picking. Mt. Konocti, formed by volcanic eruptions, can be seen from anywhere on the lake. Lake County is home to Tule Elk, more than 150 bird species, the Clear Lake Hitch, a native fish found only in Clear Lake, and native trees.

California, the Golden State. It is BIG. If you get to go once in your life time these are "must explore" areas to consider: The Cascades
of northern California, the Central Coast
where doing the coast highway is imperative, and SanFrancisco and the entire Bay Area
. For something entirely out of this world we recommend Death Valley and the Califonia deserts
. Of course there are other areas you might like, (a true exploration of this fabulous state can take a life time), so make good use of this site to get around. We also make our entire database available to you on your cell, so if you are on the road use VISNETMP.COM
