Solano County is located in the San Francisco Bay region of California, about halfway between San Francisco and Sacramento and is one of several San Francisco Bay Area counties. The county seat is Fairfield and the largest city is Vallejo.
Solano County is home to rolling hillsides, waterfronts and fertile farmland. People can enjoy day trips to the San Francisco Bay area, Lake Tahoe region and the Napa and Sonoma Valleys. Thanks to a mild climate, plenty of open space, proximity to lakes, rivers and mountains, residents can enjoy year round outdoor recreational activities like fishing, boating, skiing, hiking and biking.
Solano County has a variety of parks to enjoy the outdoor amenities. The County maintains the 177 acres of Lake Solano Park in northern Solano County, 36 acres of Sandy Beach Park in Rio Vista, and 10 acres of Belden's Landing Water Access Facility located southeast of Suisun. In partnership with the Solano Land Trust, the County operates the 1,039 acres of agricultural land and open space at Lynch Canyon Open Space.

California, the Golden State. It is BIG. If you get to go once in your life time these are "must explore" areas to consider: The Cascades
of northern California, the Central Coast
where doing the coast highway is imperative, and SanFrancisco and the entire Bay Area
. For something entirely out of this world we recommend Death Valley and the Califonia deserts
. Of course there are other areas you might like, (a true exploration of this fabulous state can take a life time), so make good use of this site to get around. We also make our entire database available to you on your cell, so if you are on the road use VISNETMP.COM
